To use the cash features, buying, selling, depositing, and withdrawing Naira, you complete a one-time identity verification (KYC). This moves your account from Tier 1 to Tier 2 and unlocks your dedicated bank account. You start it from Profile > Settings > KYC level > Start Verification.
The steps
1. Confirm your country. 2. Enter your email and your BVN. If you do not know your BVN, dial *565*0# on the phone number registered to it. Take a moment to check the BVN is correct, because a wrong one will fail verification. 3. Enter your phone number and home address. 4. Take a selfie. Center your face, look straight at the camera, and make sure you are in good lighting.
Your selfie is compared against the photo on your BVN record to confirm that you are really the owner of that BVN. Once everything matches, we set up your dedicated Naira account and you will see the message "You're verified. Tier 2 unlocked."
Tips for getting approved the first time
Use your real details exactly as they appear on your BVN. Take the selfie in bright, even light with your whole face visible, no cap and no sunglasses. And make sure the BVN you enter is your own. Verification runs in the background, so there may be a short wait after your selfie before you are notified.
