Why is my account under review? (Compliance)

Written by Spence

Occasionally an account is placed under review as part of our compliance checks. While it is under review, some actions are paused, you will not be able to buy crypto, withdraw to your bank, buy airtime, data, or bills, or send Naira to another user, and you will see a neutral message like "...disabled for this account. Please contact support." Nothing is deducted when an action is blocked, and you can still receive.

What we may ask for

If you have been asked to contact support for a compliance review, we may request a few documents to verify your account. Depending on your situation, these can include:

- The source of funds for recent deposits, such as a 3-month bank statement, including your relationship to the sender where relevant. - The purpose of the transaction(s). - Proof of source of income, such as an employment letter, payslips, or business documents like a CAC certificate, as applicable.

Please reply with these and our team will review them and get back to you. This is a routine process that helps keep everyone on Celia safe, and we aim to complete it as quickly as we can.
