Verification can be declined for a few specific reasons. The good news is that it is not the end of the road, the app shows you the reason in a red notice and lets you try again with Retake photo and then Verify me.

- Your selfie didn't match your BVN photo. Retake it in good lighting with your full face clearly visible. - No face was detected. Make sure your whole face is in the frame and facing the camera. - Your BVN couldn't be verified. Double-check that you typed your BVN correctly and try again.

If the button changes to Contact support instead, your BVN is already linked to another account, which is covered in the next article. And if you keep getting rejected even after clear, careful attempts, reply with your Celia Cash username and we will look into it for you. We will never need your recovery phrase or any bank PIN to help with verification.
